2024-2025 PCOHL AWARDS
At a Gala Event attended by celebrities and dignitaries from across the Greater Metropolitan Port Credit Area, this year’s PCOHL Awards were celebrated with the usual fanfare.
This exclusive report is brought to you by your PCOHL Executive.
The Rocket Richard and Calder Trophies
2024-25 ushered in the arrival of a truly standout rookie, Stephen Davis. Davis became instantly well-liked by his Slovenian squad as a team player and a clutch goal-scorer. And for the first time in 21 years, the Calder Trophy (Top Rookie) and Rocket Richard Trophy (most goals) are going to the same player. Congratulations Stephen on an amazing first season.

The Art Ross Trophy
The Art Ross Trophy for most points in the regular season goes to Irish Sniper Paul Riopelle. This is Paul’s second Art Ross trophy in as many years, establishing him as the league’s premier offensive threat. League goalies are all familiar with Paul crossing the blue line and unleashing his cannon of a shot, but with 23 assists to his credit this year, Paul is also a great playmaker and a great guy in general. Congratulations Paul!

Vezina Trophy
This year’s season featured outstanding goaltending performances from all five keepers but only one accomplished the rare PCOHL feat of an under-4 GAA. Scottish tendie Stuart Henderson gets his name etched on this year’s Vezina Trophy with a GAA of 3.95. This is Stuart’s first Vezina, but the way he’s stopping shots, it won’t be his last. Congratulations Stuart!

Norris Trophy
This year’s Norris Trophy winner came into the league a few years ago as an elite scorer, earning both the Rocket Richard Trophy and the Art Ross Trophy in 2022. But a couple of years ago he brought his skill set to the defence position and has proven himself to be both a tenacious defender and a great quarterback, not to mention a reliable point getter (26 points, 11th in the league from the defence position). This year’s Norris Trophy goes to Brad Stoll. Congratulations Brad!

Hart Trophy (Most Valuable Player)
This year’s Hart Trophy winner goes to Italy’s Greg Platt. While Greg easily led the Italians in points, they don’t keep stats for defensive play and anyone who has broken for the opposing net only to feel their stick lifted and see Greg racing back the other way with the puck, understands how valuable a two-way player he is. Tenacity is Greg’s middle name and he combines that with a wicked shot, great moves, and a constant commitment to defence. This is Greg’s second Hart Trophy (2023) which will go in the case beside his Calder (2010), two Art Ross’s (2014, 2024) and his Rocket Richard (2014). Congratulations Greg!

Selke Trophy (Most Improved Player)
This year’s Selke Trophy winner is Bruce Freeman, who played on Ireland with his two sons, and handily outscored both of them. While Bruce is always a competitor who can put the biscuit in the basket with some regularity, 2025 was a standout campaign for the league’s senior statesman. Congratulations Bruce on a fantastic season!
