OK so we are off and running. Last week was our Thanksgiving Turkey Special. Early game between Italy and Ireland. Ireland up 2-1 after the first period. Italy scored 2 unanswered goals in the 2nd taking a 3-2 lead into the final frame. Ireland ties it up at 3’s early but Italians scored 2 power play goals to take their first victory of the season 5-3. Italy got 2 goals from Brad Stoll and Agostino Falcone and a single from Paul Barbosa. Ireland got 2 goals from Dave Vincelli and a single from Matt Goddard. Players of the Game went to Italys backstop Frank Rispoli and for Ireland sophomore Dave Vincelli.

Late game between Slovenia and Portugal. Another close one here as well. Portugal up 2-1 after 1. Slovenia out scored the Pork Chops 3-2 in the 2nd tieing this one up at 4’s with a period to go. Portugal scored 2 lone goals in the final frame winning this game 6-4. Slovenia got goals from Leo Brideau, rookie sensation Chris Deware, the ageless Bruce Freeman and Tony Cipparrone. Portugal got 2 goals from Joe Peacock and singles from Mike Rukavina, Alan Robb, Eric Fletcher and Chris Johnson. Players of the Game went to Slovenia’s Robin Chantaj with 3 helpers and Portugal goalie rookie Stewart Henderson who face 70+ shots.

This week Friday, October 14 at 9:15 Italy will do battle with Portugal and at 10:30 Scotland plays Ireland. Slovenia gets the week off. See you all on the ice boys!!
