Sorry for the delay lads we are off and running and here is your week 1 & 2 recap. Week 1 opening night early tilt between Slovenia and Ireland. Slovenia ravaged with a Slivovica Flu with only 7 starters available and they needed 3 fill ins for this tilt. A scoreless opening frame as McCallum and Henderson shut out all shooters. All Lepricans in the 2nd frame as Ireland scores 5 unanswered goals. Deja vu in the final frame as Ireland pounds 5 more goals as Slovenia scored 3. Final opening game score Ireland 10 Slovenia 3. Slovenia got goals from Tony Thomas, David Dodic and fill in Gregg Platt. For the Irish hat tricks for both sophomore Chris Deware and veteran Timothy Randa, 2 goals off the wood of Agostino Falcone (what?? the Italians traded him for a bottle of grappa???) and singles from Rick Cecchetto and Tim Freeman. Players of the Game for Slovenia went to Tony Thomas and for the Irish, a very gangster looking Chris Deware.

Late game between Scotland and Italia. Scotland scored the lone goal in the opening period. Italy scored and tied up the game at 1-1 to end the 2nd frame. Italy took its first lead mid way through the 3rd. Scotland tied it up with under 7 mins to go. Italy scored at 3:27 to take back the lead and then added insurance with 2 empty netters to win its first game 5-2. Good game at both ends of the pond. Scotland got goals from Alan Robb and Frank Nweisser. Italy got 2 goals and 2 assists from rookie John Levac making a great first impression. Singles from Marcello Di Luzio, Dave Vincelli and Paul Harty. Players of the Game went to Italian rookie John Levac.

Week 2 recap. Early game between Ireland and Italy. The Italians were short handed and needed some fill-ins as they may have got the Slivovica Flu from the Slovenians. Ireland out scores the Italians 2-1 at the end of the 1st period. 2nd period saw a 3-3 draw as the Irish took a 5-4 lead into the final frame. Tomi and Stewart shut down the door in the final frame and this one ends with Ireland on top 5-4. Italy got singles from fill in Rob McKean and Patty Sharp and singles from John Annan and rookie phenol John Levac. Ireland got 2 goals from Tim Randa and singles from the ageless and our oldest dude Bruce Freeman, Robin Flumerfelt and Chris Deware. Players of the Game went to Italia’s fill in Robbie McKean.

And for the Irish goalie Stewart Henderson. Smile my man just smile!!!!

Late game between Slovenia and Portugal kicking off their season. All Pork Chops in the 1st period as they out score the Slovenians 4-1. Slovenia bounces a bit back out scoring the Portuguese 3-2 in the 2nd. Portugal takes a 6-4 lead into the final frame. Portugal scores mid way through the 3rd. Slovenia get 2 late goals but just ran out of clock as Portugal wins 7-6. Slovenia got a hat trick from their team sponsor David Dodic and singles from Dr. Joel May, Dwayne Tygesen and Chris Johnson. Portugal got a 2 goal night from both Greg Platt and Jeff Boulton and singles from Dave Wodar, Robin Chantaj and Mike Russo. Good game. OK so we are off and running. This weeks games go Friday, October 6 our Gobble Gobble Weekend. 9:15 Italy vs Portugal or Baggio vs Ronaldo!!! And at 10:30 Scotland vs Ireland or Drunks vs Drunks!!! Slovenia are off and get to go back to making their home made Slivovica yes!!!
