With only one game left in the Round Robin, the Championship Day picture is still far from clear. Here is what we know:

Slovenia

After finishing in fourth place in the regular season well below .500, the Slovenians are now tied for first place in the playoffs. With a bye for the final round this Wednesday, Dodic’s team will await the outcome of the big-stakes match-up between Ireland and Scotland. If Ireland wins, then Slovenia will play Ireland for GOLD. If Scotland wins, then Scotland will play Ireland for GOLD (unless Scotland wins by 5 goals or more in which case Scotland and Slovenia will play for GOLD). Could this be Ruki’s year?

Ireland

Ireland’s fate is in their own hands. Keep up their winning ways against Scotland on Wednesday and they are in the GOLD GAME. Or even lose by fewer than 5 goals and they are in the GOLD GAME. Ireland’s future is looking pretty bright at this point.

Scotland

Scotland’s future is also in their own hands. Beat or tie Ireland and play for GOLD on Sunday. Lose to Ireland and play for Bronze. Period.

Portugal and Italy

Portugal and Italy are both out of the GOLD game and will battle it out on Wednesday to see who gets to play for BRONZE and who gets to sit Sunday out. Winner plays, loser comes for the hot dogs.
