Ok 2 very close games this past week. And Arruda scandal’s continue to rise up, mmmm. Early game between the red hot Irish and our top team Italia. Italy out score the Irish 2-1 after the 1st period. Italy starts to roll in the 2nd as they score 3 times to the Irish single marker. Italy up 5-2 after 2 periods. Ireland press back and score twice and then pull their back stop and pressed but could not find the timing goal. Italy wins 5-4 and end Irelands 3 game win streak. Ireland went 1-2 on the PP and Italy was 0-1. Ireland got goals from Dr. Joel May, Tony Deluca, Frank Arruda and Brian Spence. Italy got 2 goals from both Jeff Boulton and Paul Barbosa and a single from Enzo Ianno. Players of the Game went to Italy’s Enzo Ianno, this is a scary pic, make sure the kids are not in the room.

Ok the late game between Portugal and Slovenia looked like a blow out BUT anything can happen on a Friday night. 3-2 for Portugal after 1 period. 4-1 for the Portuguese in the 2nd taking a 7-3 lead after 2 frames. Portugal made it 8-3 in the opening minute of the 3rd and the rout looked like it was on but Slovenia stormed back scoring 4 times making it an 8-7 game with a buck and a half left on the ticker and no goalie in their net. They pressed hard but rookie Henderson stopped the onslaught and an empty netter closed this one out for the Portuguese 9-7. Super exciting. Slovenia went 1-1 on the PP and Portugal was 0-0. Slovenia got a monster night from rookie phenom Chris Deware with 5 goals and 1 assist, singles from fill-in Brad Stoll and Robin Chantaj. Portugal got 3 goals from Mike Rukavina, 2 goals from Robin Flumerfelt and singles from Mike Russo, Joe Peacock, Alan Robb, and Chris Johnson. Players of the Game went to Slovenia’s Chris Deware and for the Portuguese Mike Rukavina.

There was an incident in the Portuguese dressing room as Irelands Frank Arruda stormed the showers, Kostick barely got out alive but Mike Russo will need some therapy apparently, nobody really knows what exactly happened????

So this week Friday, December 23 at PC arena at 9:15 Italy will afce off against Portugal. At 10:30 Ireland will do battle with Scotland. Slovenia get hohoho weekend off. Reminder we have our make up games on Tuesday, December 27 at Port Credit arena. At 7:30 pm Portugal will play Slovenia and at 8:45 pm Ireland will play Italy. Scotland will be off.

Just wanted to send out a big thank you from all our members to Gary ‘Dad’ Julius as he gifted all of our members with a very cool hockey mat. Thank you Gary from all of us. Scotland act surprised this week as I let the cat out of the bag!
