Week 14 Recap
Ahh our Christmas special night of games last Friday recap.
Early game between Sweden and Canada. Canada scored the 2 lone goals in the opening frame. Sweden scores twice in the first 6 minutes of the 2nd to tie up the tilt at 2’s. Canada takes back the lead with 7 minutes to go but Sweden once again tied up the match. But as the clock ticked away in the 2nd Canada took back the lead 4-3 going into the final frame. The 3rd period was all Canada as they scored 4 unanswered goals for a dominant 8-3 thrashing of the Swedes. Canada was 0-1 0n the PP and Sweden 0-0. Sweden got goals from Rukavina, Alan Robb and Patrick Sharp. Canada got 3 goals from Enzo Ianno who also had 3 assists for a huge 6 point night. 2 beauty goals from Paul Harty and Marcelo Diluzio and a single from Dr. Joel May. Players of the Game went to Canada’s Paul Harty and to Sweden (somebody got to Brenda before Rukavina) Mike Rukavina.
Interesting after game comradorie as many Canadians came into the Swedish room to toast Christmas.
Dad, Team Canada sponsor gifted all his teammates with a red Canada vest. Not sure Dad’s hat complimented his good looks haha. The Canadian boys enjoyed meeting Swedens Steve Ferrins new friend Tiny Dancer. I think she likes Tina Turner????? Steve seemed very happy!!!!! Sleep well boys!
and we laughed and laughed…..
Late game between Finland and Poland. 2-2 after the opening frame. All perogies in the 2nd as they scored 3 times for a 5-2 lead. Poland scored 2 more times in the 3rd to Finlands single for a final Polish victory of 7-3. Finland went 0-1 on the PP and Poland was 0-0. Finland goals, 2 from rookie Steve MacDougall and a single from Gerry Boudens. Poland got 2 goals from Pat McCormick and Joe Peacock and singles from Jeff Kostick (game winner), Kevin Nicholson, and Bryon Wright. Players of the Game went to Finlands #19 Steven MacDougall and to Polands very handsome Joe Peacock. Now Polands Eddie Kuzniewski was away again with a mysterious injury. Poland management refuses to let the media know what exactly has kept the Polish leader from playing. Here is what we discovered. Please note Eddie has been a long time friend of the Ide family, like for 30 years. Recently I was fortunate to meet Gord Ide’s son.
Yes a handsome devil I thought but even though Gord Ide has a great personality I found it odd that his son greeted me with ‘Gin Dobrje’. Gord or Bobby Ide have never said ‘Gin Dobrje’. mmmm I thought why does this young man look so much like Eddie???
You all must see the resemblance. I think a Murry Pauvich episode will be needed and some DNA testing as well, something is up I just cannot put my finger on the perogie.
