Our last game before the big fat guy in the red coat and white beard comes to visit us next week.

Early game last week between our top 2 teams Islanders and Flyers with good attendance.  Flyers out score the Islanders 3-1 after the first frame.  Flyers continue to roll winning the 2nd 2-0 for a 5-1 lead.  Flyers win the final frame 2-1 handing the Islanders their 2nd straight defeat 7-2.  Both squads went 0-1 on the PP.  Flyers get goals from Diluzio with a trick, Robb, Nicholson, Dan Barrett and McCormick with singles.  McKean and Tygesen score for the Islanders.  Players of the Game went to Flyers Mark Plewes and Islanders Dwayne Tygesen.  All round solid effort for the Flyers as they square up with the Islanders as best in the league with 15 points each.  Senkowski was a fill in for the Flyers and played a strong game for the winners.

Late game between our 2 bottom teams Oilers and the Habs.  Habs have struggled all season with 1st period anemic results.  No change in this puppy as the Oilers take it to the Habs 4-1 in the opening frame.  The 2nd period saw a draw of 2-2 as the Oilers head into the final period with a 6-3 lead.  Habs get an early 3rd period goal but the Oilers scored 30 seconds after maintaining their 3 goal lead.  Habs get 2 back with 60 tics left on the clock trailing 7-6.  Frantic frenzy in the Oiler end as the final buzzer sounds.  Oilers win 7-6 on a great finish to this one.  Oilers jump out of the basement for the first time this season.  Habs were 0-2 on the PP and Oilers went 0-1.  Oilers goals 2 for Brideau and singles for Spence, Chantaj, Kelly, Leenaars and the game winner from Nelson.  Habs gets a hat trick from Peacock, and singles from Steve Kostick, Sharp and Thomas.  Players of the Game went to Habs Joe Peacock and Oilers Leo Brideau (line mates from last season haha).

So now all that is left is for santa to come and bring everyone what they have wished for.  No games next week as we take time to spend with family and friends.  On behalf of the entire Exec we wish you all good health and happiness over the Christmas Holiday.

Cheers
