Week 15 End of Round 3 Recap
OK our 3rd round of regular season games are in the books now and all teams have played 12 games each. Last week was our Lovers Special VD day haha. Early game between the Rabba Scotland and Gary Julius Portugal was never really close. 2-0 Scotland after 1 period. 5-0 Scotland after 2 frames. 3rd period saw both squads score once for a final Scotland victory of 6-1. Scotland went 0-1 on the PP and Portugal was 0-2. Portugal got its lone goal from rookie Dave Woodside. Scotland got 2 goals from rookie phenol Brad Stoll, and singles from Ron Lonsdale, Dave Wodar, Robin Flumerfelt and Enzo Ianno (the really big winner from the super bowl squares). Players of the Game went to Scotlands backstop Tomi Nieminem.
And for the Portuguese welcoming back Frank Arruda, handsome devil I must say.
Late game between the David Dodic Slovenia and the Dupal Studios Italia. 2-0 for the Slovenians after 1. 4-1 for Slovenia after 2 frames. 3 more goals from the Slovenians in the 3rd giving them a 7-1 final victory. Slovenia went 0-1 on the PP and Italy was 0-0. Gord Ide had a very big game. Paul Barbosa scored Italys goal. Rookie David Dodic scored twice for Slovenia and singles from Mike Rukavina, Dave Skingley, Mattie Goddard, Dwayne Tygesen and Eric Fletcher. Players of the Game went to Italy’s wanna be Italian Paul Barbosa.
And for the Slovenians it could have been Dodic with a 4 point night, or Gordie Ide who really stood on his head BUT it had to go to Billy Dawe who we thought tripped over the blue line but he told us he had to dive to keep the puck on side. mmmmmm what is true???
Ok so with only one more round of regular season games left to play the Scot’s look like they are going to run away with the top seed as they sit with 16 points 4 better than anyone else. Then we have Portugal, Ireland and Slovenia all tied with the 2nd seed and 12 points each. Italy sit in 5th with 8 points. Scots have scored the most goals in 12 games by almost 20 more than another team. Scots also lead the league with 42 minutes of Brenda time. Portugal sit with the best goals against at 47 but all 5 teams are close. Italy is the least penalized team at 14 minutes, well done lads. Italy also has the best attendance, nice haha. Scotlands rookie sensation Brad Stoll is running away with the league scoring and the rookie scoring stats. Patty Sharp is having another stellar scoring season and maybe next year will be a top 5 seed forward. Dan Barrett leads all d men in scoring but Scotlands rookie Ron Lonsdale is right on his tail. Irelands Jay Cummings and Paul Harty and Scotlands Dave Wodar lead the league in PIM with 8 each.
So this weeks games will kick off our final round of reg season games. Friday, February 18 at 9:15 Scotland will play Italy and at 10:30 Slovenia will skate with Ireland. Portugal gets the week off. See you all on the ice boys.
