Week 17 Recap
Ok Friday night games recap.
Early match between Sweden and Poland. Poland actually had 13 players dressed, a first this season. All Swedes in the 1st period as they score 3 unanswered goals. Sweden backstop McCallum played a big part of that as Poland out shot the Swedes in that 1st period. Sweden out scores Poland 3-2 in the 2nd for a 6-2 lead. Final frame saw both squads score 3 times for a Sweden victory of 9-5. Both teams went 1-1 on the PP. Poland got a hat trick from team sponsor Frank Nweisser and singles from Frank Arruda with a Phil Esposito goal and Joe Cosentino. Sweden got a hat trick from the svelte Brian Burke (on fire!!!!) and singles from Sal Guerra, Enzo Ianno (thanking the gods again), Eric Fletcher, Leo Brideau, Steve Kaluzny, and the very handsome Joe Peacock. USA player Marcelo Diluzio was messing with Joe as he was taking selfies in the crowd during Swedens game. wtf?????
Players of the Game went to Swedens Brian Burke and to Polands Frank Nweisser.
Late game was a battle of the Barrett Brothers and a battle of the Freeman brothers and almost the Ide brothers as well as USA faced off against Finland. Sounds like a Jerry Springer episode. Good attendance on both squads for this one. Mike Jende filling in for the absent Bobby Ide. USA 3 Finland 2 after the 1st period. Finland scored both goals on the PP and USA had a short handed marker there. USA 2-1 in the 2nd for a 5-3 lead after 2 frames. Finland pushed the Americans in the final frame out scoring them 2-1 but not quite enough as USA wins this great brotherly battle 6-5. Finland went 2-4 on the PP and USA was 0-2. Finland got all single goals from Tim Randa, Tim Martins, Brian Spence, Tony Carlisle and Jay Cummings. USA got 2 goals from league leader Marcelo Diluzio and singles from Peter Freeman, Dan Barrett, Steve Ferrin and Murray Disco Russell. Players of the Game went to Finlands Tony Carlisle and to USA Marcelo Diluzio.
