Ok so 2nd last week of our adjusted regular season is in the books. Early game between Ireland and Portugal. All Rinaldo in the 1st period as they out score the Irish 5-1. Ireland wins the 2nd period 2-0 to make this a game at 5-3 after 2. Final frame saw the Irish win 2-1 for a final Portugal victory of 6-5. Goal scorers for Ireland, 2 for Leo Brideau and singles for Neil Kelly, Dr. Joel May and rookie Dave Vincelli. For Portugal 2 goals for both Mike Russo and Rob McKean and singles for Jeff Kostick and Jeff Boulton. Ireland went 0-1 on the PP and Portugal 0-2. Players of the Game went to Irelands #5 Dave Vincelli.

And for the Portuguese retired Hall of Famer brought in late as a fill in the best goalie in our history Bobby Ide with the plunger award.

Late game between the Slovenians and league leaders Scotland. 2-1 for the Scots after the first. Scots out score the Slovs 3-2 in the 2nd for a 5-3 lead after 2. Scotlands Tomi Niemenem shuts out the Slovs in the final frame as Scots score twice for a final Scotland victory of 7-3. Slovenia got goals from Ron Cormier, Eric Fletcher and Dwayne Tygesen. For Scotland 2 goals from both rookies Ron Lonsdale and Brad Stoll and singles from Neil Wilson, Steve Atchison and Patty Sharp. Scotland went 1-3 on the PP and Scotland was 0-1. Players fo the Game goes to Scotlands Brad Stoll.

And for the Slovenians Murray Barrett who scored a goal and had 2 assist for Scotland and DID NOT want to be the Player of the Game thus this interesting photo, haha.

OK so we have one more game left in our regular season this week, Friday, March 18 at 9:15 pm Italy will play Slovenia and at 10:30 pm Portugal vs Scotland, could that be a preview of our Gold Medal game?????? Ireland gets the final week off. With this past Fridays results the top 3 seeds are now set regardless of what goes down this week. Scotland has the #1 seed, Portugal has the #2 seed and Slovenia has the #3 seed. If Italia ties or beats Slovenia this week Italy will take the #4 seed and the resting Irish the #5 seed. If Slovenia beats Italy then Ireland will be our 4th seed and Italy the 5th seed. The only other thing up for grabs is the battle for the Vezina trophy as Scotland and Portugal sit with 61 goals against and Slovenia in fighting range with 63 goals against.
