Ok some big surprises. Early game between #1 seed Scotland and #5 seed Ireland with no Dan Barrett. 3-2 for Ireland after 1 frame. All Irish in the 2nd as they scored 3 unanswered for a 6-2 lead. Ireland out duels the Scottish in the 3rd 2-1 for a very surprising 8-3 victory. Anything can happen in the playoffs. Scotland went 0-5 on the PP and Ireland was 1-4. Scotland got goals from Patty Sharp, Tim Randa and Neil Wilson. Ireland got a hat trick from sophomore Dave Vincilli, 2 goals from rookie Paul Riopelle and singles from Matt Goddard, Joel May and Brian Spinner Spence. Players of the Game went to Scotlands Bryon Wright and Irelands veteran Rich Chalovich.

Late game between unbeaten Italy and Slovenia, could this be a gold medal preview???? 2-1 for Slovenia after 1. Italy scores twice in the 2nd taking a 3-2 lead after 2. Slovenia ties it up at 3’s mid way through the 3rd. Both backstops played very well and this game ends in a 3-3 draw. Slovenia went 0-2 on the PP and Italy was 0-0. Italy got 2 goals from Marcello Di Luzio and a single from Jeff Boulton. Slovenia got 2 from young Tim Freeman and a single from the very handsome don’t drop the soap George Letsos. Players of the Game went to Slovenia’s Tim Freeman and for the Italians rookie Tim Lochner.
