Last weeks games recap. Early tilt between Scotland and Slovenia. Not a friendly goaltender game. Slovenia scored 4 times in the 1st to Scotlands 3 goals. Scotland out scored the Slov’s 3-2 in the 2nd for a 6-6 tie after 2 frames. Slovenia scored 2 quick goals in the first 3 minutes of the 3rd. Scotland got one back very late, a minute to go, for a final Slovenia victory of 8-7. Scotland got 2 goals from both Frank Arruda and Tim Randa and singles from Dave Wodar, Patty Sharp and Patty McCormick. Slovenia got a hat trick from team sponsor David Dodic, 2 goals from Peter Freeman and singles from the ageless Bruce Freeman, Murray Russell and Brice Lewis. Players of the Game went to Slovenia’s David Dodic with a 5 point night. And for the Scot’s Frank ‘Pork Chop’ Arruda. Is there red heads in Portugal???

Late game between Ireland and Portugal was also a very close one until midway through the 3rd. Portuguese up 2-1 after the first. The Irish out duel the Portuguese 4-2 in the 2nd for a 5-4 lead after 2 frames. Portugal ties it up early in the 3rd but the Irish respond 90 ticks later taking back the lead. Portugal tie it up at 6’s at 9:25 and then score 2 quick goals in the next 3 minutes taking a 8-6 lead. The Pork Chops add an empty netter winning this one 9-6. Ireland got a hat trick from Dave Skingley and singles from Dave Woodside, Rob McLaughlin and rookie Paul Riopelle. Portugal got 4 goals from the handsome Chris Johnson, 2 goals each for Rukavina and Alan Robb and a single from Eric Fletcher. Players of the Game went to Irelands David Skingley.

This weeks games will end our first round robin games and it is our Halloween Special. Friday, October 28, at 9:15 Scotland will face off against Portugal and at 10:30 Slovenia will do battle with Italia. The Irish get to go trick or treating this week. See you all on the ice lads.
