Last weeks games ends our 1st round. Early tilt between the Rabba Fine Foods Scotland and the Gary Julius Portugal team. All Portuguese in the 1st scoring 3 unanswered. The 2nd period saw both squads score twice for a 5-2 Portugal lead after 2. Portugal wins the 3rd period out scoring the Scot’s 3-2. Final score Portugal 8 Scotland 4. Scotland got goals from Neil Wilson, Robin Flumerfelt, Steve Atchison and Brad Stoll. Portugal got a hat trick from Rob McKean and Rob McLaughlin and singles from new guy Mike Russo and Tim Freeman. Scotland went 1-1 on the PP and Portugal was 0-1. Players of the Game went to Scotlands #13 Brian Burke and for the Portuguese with a monster 6 point night, #19 Rob McKean.

The late game between the David Dodic Slovenia and the David Dupal Italia. The battle of the Davids and both sponsors were away haha. Slovenia scored the lone 2 goals in the 1st period. The 2nd saw both squads score once with Slovenia leading 3-1. For the 2nd week in a row the Slov’s ran out of gas as the Italians stormed back and scored twice in the 3rd with this tilt finishing 3-3 tie. Slovenia got goals from Eric Fletcher, Dwayne Tygesen and Dave Skingley. Italia got goals from Marcelo Di Luzio, Sal Guerra and Agostino Falcone. Forza Italia!!!!! Italy went 1-1 on the PP and Slovenia was 0-0. Players of the Game went to Italia’s Agostino Falcone scoring the big tying goal late in the 3rd.

Doing a little bit of brick work. And for the Slovs Gord Ide, the best looking Slovenian thats for sure.

So Round One in the books. Ireland sits on top of the standings with 5 pts. Then Scotland, Portugal and Slovenia all with 4 pts. Italia sits in 5th with 3 pts. All teams have won and all teams have lost. Tighter than grandmas home made jam jar lid??????

The usual bandits on top of the scoring race with a couple of hot rookies making a statement, Boulton from Portugal, Stoll and Lonsdale from Scotland and Dodic from Slovenia. No player has more than a minor in the first 5 weeks, yes boys!!!!!!

This week kicks off our 2nd round of games and its our Halloween special on Friday, October 29. At 9:15 Scotland will face off against Italy. At 10:30 Slovenia will do battle with Ireland. Portuguese gets the week off to go trick or treating.
