Week 7 Recap
Week 7 is in the books and 2 beauts last night at the old Port Credit arena. The early game between the David Dodic Slovenians and the Gary Julius Portuguese. Slovenia scores the lone goal in the opening frame. Deja vu in the 2nd as Slovenia holds on to a 2-0 lead with a period to go. Portugal scores mid way through the 3rd making it 2-1. A late Portugal goal looks like it tied up this tilt at 2’s as both referees convene and neither saw it go in as this one finishes 2-1 victory for the Slovenians. If we only had video review most likely a tied game. Next years budget maybe. Slovenia went 0-1 on the PP Portugal was 0-0. Great night for both backstops, Ide and McCallum. Portugal got a goal from Robbie McLaughlin and Slovenia got goals from Matt Goddard and Dwayne Tygesen with a beauty game winner. Players of the Game went to Portugals Pilot Rob McLaughlin, handsome devil with the plunger.
And for the farmers of Slovenia Dwayne Tygesen.
Late game was also a close one with a bit more scoring. The David Dupal Italians and the Chinook Paddles Irish. Italia scored the only goal in the first. Ireland out scored the Italians 2-1 in the 2nd as these two titans headed into the 3rd all square at 2’s. Italia scored twice early in the 3rd and looked like in total control of this one. But these Irish have a lot of fight in them as they scored twice to end this one tied at 4’s. Good hockey game at both ends of the pond. Italy went 1-1 on the PP and Ireland was 0-0. Italy got single markers from Tim Randa, Johnny Fasulo, John Annan and their sniper the Portuguese wanna be Italian Paul Barbosa. Ireland got 2 goals from their blue liner Jay Cummings and singles from Leo Brideau and Dr. Joel May. Players of the Game went to Italia’s Sal Guerra.
and for the Irish Jay Cummings. Teammate Harty with a sweet smile for the photo????????
